Mr. Mark Hardiman has a total of 23 years’ experience in shipping and ports, having worked in five different countries across three continents - specifically South Africa, Nigeria, Egypt, Belgium and the U.A.E. Mr. Hardiman has been influential in driving growth and enhancing business performance across various functions, including operations, IT and technical services. During these years he has demonstrated his wide range of industry experience by implementing performance enhancements to the operations and has worked to further develop strategies with key port stakeholders, along with courses of action to ensure that high service levels are maintained and continuously improved.
Mr. Sunil Joseph Chief Commercial Officer. Sunil has over 26 yearsâ€™ experience in shipping with 17 of those in GCC countries â€" UAE, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain as well as Oman. Part of this experience has been heading up a commercial team in a multiport. Sunilâ€™s comes from a position of Chief Commercial Officer at APM Terminals, Bahrain where he drove revenue improvement plans, was instrumental in the development and implementation of customer e-solutions, developed customer centric value propositions (including marine) and diversified cargo and customer bases.
Mr. Ahmed Ali Akaak is the Deputy CEO of the Company. He has been with the Port since January 2000 where he has worked in several key positions including Chief Corporate Officer and General Manager for Human Resources. He brings to the position broad industry knowledge and executive experience in all aspects of management, including strategic planning and organizational development both locally and nationally.Mr. Akaak's background includes a bachelor degree in Economics from the US and Master Degree in Human Resources management.
Mr. Roeland van Beers has been appointed Chief Financial Officer for Port of Salalah effective 1 September 2019. Roeland joined APM Terminals in September 2011 and has held various financial leadership and business development roles in Rotterdam, The Hague and the Port of Tanjung Pelepas (Malaysia). Prior to joining APM Terminals, Roeland worked in real estate development based in Italy, Germany and his native The Netherlands. He holds an M.Sc. in Economics and is a member of the Dutch Association of Register Controllers.
Mr. Jesse Damsky is Chief Commercial Officer of the Company since 1st November 2014. Jesse holds a B.S. degree in International Trade. Jesse joined the APMM Group in 2010 and comes to APMT with a background in freight forwarding but has also worked with project and contract logistics and heavy lift operations. He has previously worked with Dorian Drake International Inc. in the USA, as Project Manager, Agility Defense & Government Services and most recently as Program / Business Development Manager, Al-Elaf Group in Jordan
Mr. Joseph Schofield has joined as Chief Operating Officer CT w.e.f. from 1st January, 2016 and has 20 years of experience with Port industry in all aspects of terminal operations including planning port development, national operations efficiency and national system development. His last appointment was as 'Regional General Manager Operations' responsible for operations in 15 port and terminal facilities in 12 nations spanning Western Africa, the Gulf and Sri Lanka ,from the APM Terminal Africa & Middle East office located in Dubai.
Mr. Ahmed Suhail Ali Qatan is the Chief Operation Officer –GCT of the Company. He has been with Port since 2005. He worked as an employment manager for 2 years and since 2008 as Senior Manager HR. In 2010 he has been promoted to GM-HR. Since 5 years a member of the executive management team. He holds an MBA from Lurton University in UK. He has working experience of 27 years in the public sector that includes a director of field studies, director of coordination and director of hygiene in the local government in Dhofar region.
Scott Selman is the Chief Operating Officer of the container terminal. He is responsible for the day to day business of the terminal as well as port wide services of Maintenance & Repair, Marine services and IT. Scott brings diverse operations and leadership experience from his work for APM Terminals in The United States, Nigeria, Egypt, Singapore/ APAC region and most recently as COO of Cai Mep International Terminal in Vietnam. Scott holds a BSc in Business Administration from The University of Southern California.
Mr. Ali Kashoob is GM HR. He has been associated with Port since 2003. He is a Bachelor of Port Management and Operations from Arab Academy for science and technology with honor. He has varied experience in Port Operations, commercial and training and brings vast industry knowledge.
Mr. Mohammed Al Mashani is the Chief Corporate Affairs Officer at Port of Salalah. He holds a BSc in Safety Management from Central Missouri State University and an MSc in Facilities Management and Asset Maintenance from Herriot-Watt University, Edinburgh. Over the last 20 years Mohammed has worked in different sectors: Oil and Gas where he worked in PDO in logistics and HSE. Petrochemicals, where he joined Aromatics Oman.For last 8 years at Port of Salalah where he started as HSE Senior manager. He has been through a CPMD program through APM Terminals in association with ESADE Business School and in 2015 was chosen for the first cohort of the Oman National CEO program.
Mr. Ahmed started his career as a faculty member at College of Engineering- Department of Civil and Architectural Engineering at Sultan Qaboos University (SQU) and worked there from 2000 to 2013. He served as a lecturer in Transportation Engineering. He received my Master's Degree in Traffic Engineering from University of Texas at Austin where he worked as a research project manager as well at the Center for Transportation Research that is attached to the university.
In 2013, he left SQU to work as the Managing Director for Najed Al Ahliya LCC, which is a contracting company for oil and gas projects. With his team they managed to grow the company revenue 3 folds in less than 3 years. Furthermore, with limited resources they managed to win PDO Off-Plot Delivery Contract for the North (Fahud, Yibal, and Lekhwair) that is worth $100M. This was the first time a local community contractor was awarded a PDO direct contract of that size.
In 2016, he joined Port of Salalah as the General Manager for Projects Development and Implementation. Then, in 2018 his scope expanded to include Maintenance and Repair. This role covered infrastructure projects development and management, port facilities maintenance, port equipment maintenance and repair, port power plant, maintenance planning, and stores.
In 2020, Ahmed's assignment changed where he became member of the Executive Management Team to focus more on major upcoming expansion projects and the stakeholder management scope entailed. Since then, his role has been Head of Projects and Strategy Development. My role covers aspects ranging from heading equipment procurement projects to part-taking in new concession agreement development with multiple stakeholders.
Mr. Bart van de Graaf, has been appointed Chief Financial Officer for Port of Salalah effective 1 March 2022. Bart joined the APMM Group in August 2011 in The Hague and subsequently took up the role of CFO at APM Terminals COMAN in Benin, followed by Abidjan Terminal in Ivory Coast.
Prior to joining APMM, he worked for General Electric in the Financial Management Program, Corporate Audit Staff and in the energy services business.
He holds an M.Sc. in Economics from the Erasmus University Rotterdam.
