Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) has long remained an integral part of our business at the Port of Salalah. The Port of Salalah has had a long history of supporting communities in need.

Following the Pakistan Tsunami in 2004, the port employees held a collection drive and managed to stock up to seven full 20-foot containers with essentials to help relief efforts, a memory which still remains in the hearts and minds of many of the port's long-serving employees. The company began to formally announce its charitable donations under Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and in 2010 began to publish an annual donations circular to shareholders at yearly reviews. Impacting the local Dhofar region and benefiting the larger segments of communities requiring support are the guiding posts of the company's CSR program. Education, SME development, community support and HSE are the major focus areas of sponsorship and volunteer action. As the single largest employer in the Dhofar region of Oman, we are mindful of the benefits of placing the welfare and interests of the local community, its people and the environment at the very core of our corporate philosophy.

Through our multi-faceted CSR strategy, we continue to fund a variety of initiatives and events that primarily benefit our host community. We routinely sponsor business events, cultural meetings, sports, tourism, charities and environmental programmes as well as activities organised by local schools and hospitals. Further, with a view to making a difference in the lives of the local people, Port of Salalah continues to actively support volunteer groups and charities operating in the Dhofar region. These include, but not limited to, The Oman Charitable  Organization, Omani Bahja Orphan Society, Omani Women Association , and the Environmental Society of Oman.

At the heart of our CSR strategy is an unremitting focus on education and training. By offering members of the local community opportunities to imbibe new skill-sets, Port of Salalah endeavours to support the government's policy of enhancing the employability of Omanis and means to improve their livelihoods .
